GoluGirl - A world of stories, memory & wonder
Veda, Akka, and Ammomma standing near the shrine in a traditional Indian home.

NIGHT SEVEN · KALARATRI · ARRIVE

I Don’t Want to Look.

Some things make us curious right away.

Others make us pause.

Tonight, Veda stops before she reaches the shrine.

Veda:

“Akka… I don’t want to look.”

Akka:

“Do you want to stay here?”

Ammomma:

“You can.”

Veda:

“Will She still be there?”

Ammomma:

“Yes.”

Ammomma:

“And we can learn from here.”

Sometimes our first response comes before understanding.

We may step back.

We may feel unsure.

We may need time before we want to look again.

Learning does not have to begin by forcing ourselves closer.

It can begin with a pause.

You do not have to feel comfortable before you begin to understand.

A first feeling tells us how something meets us. It does not yet tell us the whole story.

What helps you stay curious when something first feels unfamiliar?
