Copyright & Creative Use

Old traditions. New expressions. Both deserve care.

© 2026 GoluGirl. All rights reserved. GoluGirl is made from many things. Old stories. Living traditions. Research. Family memories. Questions. Photographs. Illustrations.
And new ways of bringing them together. It is important to distinguish between the traditions GoluGirl explores and the original work GoluGirl creates.

What GoluGirl Does Not Claim

GoluGirl does not claim ownership of the cultural or religious traditions it explores.

Traditional stories, sacred names, symbols, practices, historical material, cultural knowledge, and inherited forms may have existed for generations or centuries.

Their appearance on GoluGirl does not make those traditions the property of GoluGirl.

Where material comes from another creator, publication, institution, archive, collection, or source, the rights of the respective creator or rights holder remain their own where applicable.

What Is Original to GoluGirl

GoluGirl may hold rights in its own original creative expression, including, where applicable: original writing and editorial expression, original illustrations and artwork, original photography, original characters, graphic and visual elements, original arrangements and visual storytelling, page compositions and editorial presentations, and downloadable resources and materials.

Copyright protects original expression rather than the underlying ideas, traditions, historical facts, or cultural practices themselves.

Share the Door

If something on GoluGirl moves you, teaches you something, or makes you curious, we hope you will send someone else through the door.

Please feel free to share links to GoluGirl.com.

Please do not copy, republish, distribute, sell, license, or commercially use substantial portions of GoluGirl's original writing, illustrations, photography, downloads, or other protected creative work without permission.

This does not restrict uses that are permitted by law, including fair use.

Family Photographs and Golu Albums

Some photographs on GoluGirl document physical Golu displays, family traditions, objects, and celebrations from our own home and family collection.

Unless otherwise noted, GoluGirl's rights in those photographs relate to the original photographs themselves.

Traditional dolls, sacred imagery, artworks, handcrafted objects, designs, and other items appearing within a photograph may have their own histories, creators, traditions, or rights.

Displaying those objects in a GoluGirl photograph does not mean GoluGirl claims ownership of the underlying cultural or artistic works.

Visitor Memories

A person who contributes an original Memory or response continues to own their original contribution.

Where permission to share has been given, GoluGirl may use that contribution according to the sharing choice made by the contributor.

Would you like to use GoluGirl material for a school, cultural, editorial, nonprofit, community, or other project?
