Day8 - Sit with her

Night Eight · Sit With Her

Why Can Receiving Feel Hard?

Veda closed her hands again.

Veda:“But what if I don’t want something?”
Ammomma nodded.
Ammomma:“Then you can say no.”
Golu Girl looked up.
Akka:“So receiving doesn’t mean taking everything?”
Ammomma:“No.”
She looked toward Mahagauri’s open hands.

Ammomma:“It means noticing what is being offered—and
knowing what you want to let in.”

An open hand does not ask us to accept everything.

We can still choose.

But sometimes we turn away even from things we need— help, kindness, reassurance, a listening ear.

Receiving asks for something quieter than reaching.

It asks us to notice: Am I saying no because this is not right for me—or because receiving feels harder than doing everything myself?

Receiving still leaves room for choice.

GG Lens

Something can be offered to you, and you can still choose. Receiving does not mean saying yes to everything. Sometimes the answer is yes. Sometimes it is no. The important part is noticing the difference.

Reflect

Is there something good you sometimes push away because receiving it feels uncomfortable?
