THE WORLD
How does GoluGirl fit together?
GoluGirl is a space to explore, experience and carry forward the many layers of Golu — its stories, symbols, practices, people and places. It brings together learning, reflection, creativity and celebration, inviting you to see how they all connect.

Our Lens
GoluGirl begins in a Telugu home, where this Navaratri practice is known as Bommala Koluvu. Our understanding of Golu was shaped by the customs, words and memories of that home. That is why Telugu leads our telling.
But Golu is not contained by one language, one region, one family or one telling. Across South India, it is known by different names and shaped by distinct customs, histories and households. We honor those variations rather than smoothing them into a single “correct” version.
What you encounter here is GoluGirl's interpretation: researched, personal and still listening.
Telugu is our root, not our fence.
This is one lens into a much larger world.
