Night Nine . Carry it into the Night
SIDDHIDATRI
A Small Difference
Change does not always announce itself. Sometimes it appears in a pause that was not there before. In a question asked differently. In the moment we choose not to rush in. Small enough to miss. Real enough to notice.
Later that night, Veda was trying to arrange a small row of flowers. One kept slipping out of place. She frowned. Golu Girl reached forward — then stopped.
Akka:"Do you want me to hold this while you try?"
Veda nodded.
Together, they steadied the flowers.
Ammomma watched from nearby.
She did not say anything.
After a moment, Veda looked at Golu Girl.
Veda:"You waited."
Golu Girl looked at her.
Then she smiled.
Recognition does not always arrive as a big realization. Sometimes we notice it in an ordinary moment: we pause where we once rushed, we listen where we once answered, we make room where we once took over. No one has to declare: "I have changed." The moment itself can tell us something has begun.
Some beginnings are quiet enough to miss.

Night 9 does not ask us to prove a transformation. It asks us to become more attentive to the small places where something may already be different.
What might you notice differently tomorrow?
