Night Nine . Sit With Her
SIDDHIDATRI
Do I Have to Prove I Changed?
After nine nights, it is tempting to look for proof. Did I learn enough? Did I change enough? Did I understand everything? Even reflection can quietly turn into another test. But recognition is not the same as grading ourselves. Sometimes the most honest question is simpler: What has begun?
Golu Girl was quiet for a while. Then she asked:
Akka:"If we came all this way…
shouldn't we be different now?"
Ammomma looked at her.
Ammomma:"Maybe."
Golu Girl frowned.
Akka:"How would I know?"
Veda looked between them.
Veda:"Do we have to know tonight?"
Ammomma smiled.
Ammomma:"No."
Then she said:
Ammomma:"You do not have to prove the journey."
A journey can matter without giving us a perfect result. We may notice something has shifted. We may not notice until much later. We may understand one thing clearly and still struggle with another. Night 9 does not ask us to declare ourselves finished. It asks us to look with honesty.
We do not have to finish to recognize what has begun.

Recognition is quieter than achievement. It does not say: "I have mastered this." It asks: "What am I beginning to notice?"
What have you begun to notice differently?
